When does Glastonbury start and how long is it on for?
The countdown is well and truly on to the 2024 Glastonbury Festival. The world's "largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world", it is "simply unlike anywhere else", organisers say.
The Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts - to use its full name - usually takes place four out of every five years across 900 acres at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset.
How much are glastonbury tickets
The fifth year is generally reserved for rehabilitation of the land at the farm.
The last official fallow year was 2018, but the festival was also cancelled in 2020 and 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic and had “enforced fallow” years.
It's been (show)business as usual since then and thousands are now packing their tents and rucksacks to enjoy the spectacle in person - whatever the weather.
