Nancy Pelosi announces she will run for reelection in 2024
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Friday she will run for reelection in 2024.
"Now more than ever our City needs us to advance San Francisco values and further our recovery," Pelosi wrote in a post to X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Our country needs America to show the world that our flag is still there, with liberty and justice for ALL.
That is why I am running for reelection — and respectfully ask for your vote," she continued.
She first made the announcement in San Francisco during her quarterly "Politics & Eggs" breakfast event with supporters and volunteers, according to her campaign.
"We have a challenge in our country," Pelosi said.
